Smiloh is the dream pop alter ego of trumpeter/vocalist/producer Emily Mikesell. The genre spanning project creates new contexts for the trumpet to shine in ranging from heavy ambient textures, orchestral fantasies, funky pocket grooves and confessional ballads with airy vocals. Based in New Orleans and heavily influenced by Black American Music, Smiloh emphasizes improvisation within the structure of pop music, knocking down walls of genres in every song.
